Summary
Indiana Jones returns again, and again this time, to save the world from the Nazis. In this film, the Nazis have kidnapped Indy's father, Professor Henry Jones, for his diary, which contains maps and first-hand accounts of many of the world's most sacred and hidden items. One of these such items, the Holy Grail, is what the Nazis are after, and is the reason they had kidnapped Prof. Jones and his diary. Indy must then make his way directly into the "lion's den" - Nazi Germany - in order to save his father, his diary, and the Holy Grail - all from the Nazis.

Tidbits
- When Indy is at Walter Donovan's, his wife enters the room begging Donovan to join the party. The actress doing the part is also actor Julian Glover's wife in real life. Upon her entry, we can hear the Star Wars theme commonly dubbed Storm Trooper March played on a piano in the background. The injoke reference is to Glover, who also played General Veers: the imperial officer who commands the AT/AT attack on the rebel base on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back
- The deleted scene featuring Suzanne Roquette as the "Film Director" during the Nazi rally was intended as a reference to filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl and her propaganda movie Triumph des Willens (Triumph of the Will)
- When George Lucas met with Steven Spielberg to discuss a third Indiana Jones movie, he wanted to have it set in a haunted mansion. Spielberg had just finished Poltergeist and decided that he wanted to do something different. Lucas then came up with the idea of the Holy Grail and Spielberg added the idea of a father/son sub-story
