Had to add this to the latest update:

One of my favorite fansites on the net (I tend to frequent movie sites) is Spielbergfilms.com which is ran by Steven Awalt. He has been keeping the internet updated on all things Spielberg for years and guess what just happened? The Man himself had this to say about Mr Awalt's site.

"Whenever I need information about myself, your site is my first and only stop. Not only is your coverage thorough and accurate, but it is also one of the most polished fansites I have ever seen." - Steven Spielberg

This says alot about Spielberg also and a big thank you to him for acknowledging all the hard work Steven has done.

Julie has donated three drawings. Check them out, they are wonderful.

Firewall is still in the top 10 and as of the 8th it is holding at #7 with a total of $43,268,730

We have a new affiliate and it is a new Harrison Ford fansite. Although they are just starting out, so far things are looking good over there. Visit and enjoy

First the good news:
Firewall made it to the top of the Australian charts on the first weekend out (AUD 1.32 mil) with a good margin to #2 (Walk the Line at AUD 0.98 mil)

Then the not so good ones:
Indy IV is delayed again; according to an interview given at the Academy Governor's Ball on Oscar night, Steven Spielberg revealed he will "positively take a year off directing" to concentrate on getting/readying scripts for Dreamworks. Writer David Koepp has also succeeded Jeff Nathanson on the script writing front.

Why not go to the Forums and read all about it?

Well, as many of you know Firewall opened in 4th place over the weekend with $13.8 million. Here is the results of the top four movies:
  1. The Pink Panther $21.7
  2. Final Destination 3 $20.1
  3. Curious George $15.3
  4. Firewall $13.8
Although Firewall performed slightly under expectations ($15 - $18 was projected) one good sign is that it did open better than K19 and Hollywood Homicide. Good word of mouth could possibly help Firewall in the long run. Many are have begun speculating as to why Harrison's return to the silver screen after three years was met with a low turnout and here are some things to consider:
  • Four movies opened in over 2500 screens which made for an extremely crowded weekend.
  • The Pink Panther opened on over 600 more screens than the other three and in some cases got more daily rotations than Firewall.
  • FD3, which was predicted by the analysts to grab the #1 spot, was a given because of the violence/gore factor that appeals to younger movie-goers.
  • Curious George is a beloved children's book character that parents (Harrison's main fan base age group) grew up with and wanted to treat their young children to.
  • Critics across the board labeled Firewall as an action movie when in fact it was a Thriller. This could have possibly turned movie-goers off.

There is a good chance that Firewall will build up due to various factors:
  • It is doubtful that The Pink Panther will have strong legs due to the negative feedback from audiences. In many cases people were walking out at the half-way mark.
  • FD3 has made it's money opening weekend and true to form for Horror movies, it should drop off.
  • Curious George has been met with mixed reviews and is not going to be strong throughout the rest of it's run. Unlike family favorites such as Finding Nemo and Shrek, CG will not maintain a strong audience.

Although I was very disappointed at Firewall's opening weekend numbers, I am hopeful that good word of mouth will carry this movie the next few weeks. On the right you'll notice I've added a box office tracking section where visitors can keep track daily on how well the movie is doing.

Have some other updates for you and at this time I want to personally thank Grethe for all her help during the Firewall coverage and for keeping me on my lazy feet. She has done a terrific job at keeping forum members and hopefully some site visitors happy with a constant update of the Sound & Vision gallery where people can view videos of Harrison's recent TV appearances. She has also been helpful with updating the main page and coming up with ideas on how to provide visitors with even more goodies/information. Thank you Grethe.

In the Sound & Vision gallery Grethe has added Harrison's appearances on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Conan O'Brien, The Early Show and Letterman plus more. Go check it out and enjoy

As a follow up to the Peoples Choice Awards, forum member Sunny Flower found some video footage online.

On the right towards the middle, choose the video "People's choice awards". Wait till it loads, and the first thing after you get the female announcer is Harrison. He's only seen in the first couple of seconds anouncing who's won the award. You can also play the video "backstage at people's choice" but you get exactly the same footage of Harrison anouncing the award but it's not shown in the first minutes as the other video.
check it out.

January 11, 2006

Harrison was at the Peoples Choice Awards last night and we have in the gallery 8 photos from the event. Harrison is sporting what is apparently his look for Manhunt which begins filming in March. Check out the photos

Important update:

The forum members already know about this but on January 1st Harrison Ford Media has merged with Harrison Ford Web. Instead of having two fairly large sites dedicated to Harrison we will have one super site of all things Harrison. Grethe and I are working on getting the two sites combined so look for several new pages here in the coming weeks:

- A sound and vision gallery will be available that has hundreds of videos for downloading
- Fonts, over a hundred wallpapers, desktop accessories, screensavers, more articles, a comprehensive TV/Film/Documentary voting system, pic of the day feature.
- A movie review section and more.

Harrison Ford Web will be the place to be in 2006.
