On Transport, F***ing Ben Affleck -- and Cannes
TRANSPORT, F***ING BEN AFFLECK -- AND CANNES![]() |
TRANSPORT: Harrison and partner Calista Flockhart caught an unexpected ride after attending the 16th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) Academy Awards Viewing party on Oscar night. When their limo failed to appear and people started crowding them, deputies of the West Hollywood Sheriff Dept. offered a ride in the back seat of their squad car after deeming the situation a necessary "public safety measure". F***ING BEN AFFLECK: Comedian and talkshow host Jimmy Kimmel got his revenge on girlfriend Sarah Silverman and her I'm F***ing Matt Damon video in his show after the Oscars broadcast: He assembled an impressive bunch of celebs for an I'm F***ing Ben Affleck gag. Guess one of the the smartasses instrumental in arranging the high profile turnout...... Tip #1: look for bumper stickers. Tip #2: he also appears singing (!!!) Oscars Night
OSCARS NIGHT![]() Click to see more in HFW Gallery 1 |
Oscars night is just over, with winners in a mix of safe bets and the unexpected. One of the winners was among the safe bets: Brook Busey-Hunt a.k.a Diablo Cody. She won for her screenplay for Juno and Harrison Ford had the honor of presenting the award. |
Harrison also appeared on Barbara Walters' Oscar Special and we were honestly a bit disappointed since there wasn't much we haven't heard before - but we note his reply to Walters' question on what he would like to be remembered for after this career:"As a good collaborator, as a good partner, and I mean that in all aspects of my life: professional and personal. As somebody that put something into it."See Barbara Walters' interview over at tv.popcrunch.com by clicking here. |

A Reminder and On Broken Hearts, George Talks History Too
A REMINDER...and on broken hearts, George talks (history) too
![]() |
Just a little reminder: Harrison will be appearing on Barbara Walters Oscar Special on Sunday Feb 24 at 7 pm EST and after the Oscars broadcast on the US West Coast. |
![]() At the VES Awards (l-r): Dennis Muren, Steven Spielberg, Douglas Trumbull |
Steven Spielberg was awarded the Visual Effects Society Lifetime Achievement Award on Sunday (Feb 10). According to website Rotten Tomatoes, Spielberg reflected on Crystal Skull and admitted it had hurt to let it go: |
| "It was awful the last day of shooting because I didn't want it to end, Harrison didn't want it to end, Karen, none of us wanted it to end. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had." Other than that the director stayed as mum as ever on the project and promptly referred the more inquisitive to the producers: ""Well, you'll have to ask my producer Frank Marshall and he's not talking. And George Lucas, and he never talks." | |
| The latter is not entirely true |

HAT AND JACKET....and Happy Birthday to John Williams

| A new interesting video appeared at the official site yesterday: Harrison's preferred costumer Bernie Pollack gives us a fascinatiing runthrough of some of the work done and the principal suppliers involved in recreating Indiana Jones' iconic fedora and bomber jacket outfit. Be prepared to see some really enticing (and murkily moist) teasers from the KotCS set -- including what just might be an ultra short glimpse of John Hurt sporting long, greasy hair and a poncho more than one continent away from Armani. | |

Crystal Skullduggery
CRYSTAL SKULLDUGGERY| Roughly a week before the long awaited Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull trailer is expected to appear there is a whole lot of skullduggery going on -- on the Net. Website Action Figure Insider opened the ball by publishing a flyer showing upcoming Indiana Jones items keychains from Japanese supplier Takara Neduke on Friday Feb.1. Today, website MovieWeb published a scoop closeup of what they claim is a the crystal skull McGuffin in Indiana Jones 4. Click on images below to enlarge:

For the sake of comparison, we took the Drew Struzan teaser poster and insterted the skull picture from MovieWeb just to see how it looked:![]() Click to enlarge Original teaser poster (l.) and teaser poster with MovieWeb skull inserted (r.) Photoshop work by the undersigned We conclude that the similarity is too obvious to be concidental and that traditional skull elongation by binding (& trepanation), general dolichocephaly or Marfan's Syndrome isn't quite enough to explain this somewhat mean lookin' baby. As if the above wasn't enough: Official tie-in supplier OfficialPix announced a new limited edition Indiana Jones 11x14" photo in their blog today - complete with a genuine Harrison Ford signature to be added tomorrow Feb 6 - at the measly sum of USD 459.99. The really interesting part is the skinny Indy shares the photograph with: ![]() Click to enlarge Indy and skinny with elongated skull. Dare we whisper the words alien, perhaps even hybrid???
