| Summary |
Captain Willard (Martin Sheen), whose mission is to "terminate with extreme prejudice", receives orders to seek out a renegade military outpost led by the mysterious Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando) during the Vietnam war. The movie's most unforgettable line, perfectly summing up the insanity, is Lt. Col Kilgore's (Robert Duvall) I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The screenplay is based on the novella Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad |
